At Polka Dot Farm, we are so lucky to have oodles and oodles of land and space. We decided to set up camp, and this week our children have experienced what it is like to camp in nature. The tented village has been set up on our private farmland, and the children have had packed lunches, roasted marshmallows on a small bbq and even set up a portable toilet (spoiler alert: the children were most excited about doing a wee in the toilet tent!)
“Old School” childhoods are at the heart of what we believe in at Polka Dot Farm. Seeing the children building dens, immersed in nature and enjoying conversations in their tents, we are reminded of the value of the simple things in life. We have been able to give children the experience of “camping” during the day, and this has led to a rich learning environment of discovery and fun.
